Co-Founder - Chief creative officer
An idea-generating icon who lives and breathes the alphabetique spirit to always make great shit. He provides encouraging leadership on all projects, plays a lead role in brand strategy and concept as well as development – for both national and international clients.
Always ready to get his hands dirty, Simon is not one to hide behind his job titles. He always knows the current state of each project – even the tiny ones. With more than 20 years of industry experience, Simon is alphabetique’s inhouse creative booster: he helps where needed, encourages everyone to bring their ideas to the table and pushes all towards their full potential.
He has a (mostly) healthy obsession with all things design: from vintage graphics, furniture classics to modern day fashion. Simon is the only person in the agency who can pull off mustard colored clothing, turtle necks and a combination of both. He loves all things nature and Freddy Mercury. On the lookout for a great Pina Colada? Yep, you will find him doing that too.
Co-Founder - Chief finance officer
Nuremberg-bred and nimble-witted, Joni brings years of experience and expertise to his many roles: co-founder, finance whiz, software guru – he basically provides us with everything we need to be the most valuable agency for our clients.
In 1998 he began freelancing in all things advertising for several noticeable clients. But, Joni wanted more. So, in 2010 he and Simon created alphabetique to give creative geniuses an amazing playground to craft nifty shit.
When he’s not here – keeping the alphabetique universe intact – he is traveling to Japan (his wife’s home country), belting out THAT Frozen song (the Japanese version) with his adorable daughter or tending to his enormous comic collection. Other hobbies: ranking food by deliciousness. Or standing on freshly cut grass, swinging his golf club, swearing, looking for the ball and repeating.

Part know-how, part skills, part uncanny enthusiasm. That’s Thea for you! Starting out as the first ever alphabetique intern way back when, she has proven her expertise in all things advertising. Be it concept, placement, optimization or launch – this multi-talent will get it done. Thea, a self proclaimed typography lover, bangs out gobsmacking designs and visual evergreens. Wrong colours, misaligned objects or missing crop marks don’t stand a chance against her. But don’t let her focus on visuals fool you: equipped with homemade musli for every lunch break and deep designer wisdom, Thea always focuses on creating valuable interactions between brands and customers.
When she isn’t spending her days neck-deep in brand narratives, she likes to unwind by watching telenovelas. Be it Spanish, Korean or Turkish – Thea is here for the drama! Also: kindly don’t enter a battle reciting “Drei???“ quotes with her! She’s knows Justus, Peter and Bob better than you know your mom. What a woman!

Think you know every metal band ever? Think again – Lisa will put you in your place. Badass hurdy-gurdy player. Badass creative director. And overall badass woman. Need an unshakable brand concept or a kickass creative presentation? Lisa will come up with one – quickly.
As our creative director she got her feet wet at alphabetique as an intern while studying Design at TH Nuremberg. Since then, she has brought her expertise, sense of humor and lightning-fast wit to every client project: in the midst of madness and confusion, she zeros in on the problem and comes up with a bomb-ass solution – always on time and with exceptional organizational skills. This has garnered her great respect from our clients as well as her collogues.
You will usually find her head-banging at a concert in an all-black outfit or spying on her parent’s cat. Her life story? Trying to read every single page from her ever-growing pile of non-fiction and fantasie books.
Senior Art Director - Concept + Design + Content + English communications
When she was six, Julia wanted to be a purple cat. Seeming that this did not work out, we are pretty stoked that she landed at alphabetique. After a brief stint in the IKEA graphics department, Julia now flexes her design muscle for us, as head of our Berlin studio.
Well thought out design is what gets this woman out of bed in the morning: when she's not tinkering around with new concepts and layouts or directing photo and film shoots, she puts her compulsive organizational skills to good use. A perfectionist at heart, she is on top of every deadline and also our maven for English texts.
Lover of good gif, nap enthusiast and despiser of crunchy peanut butter (it has to be smooth) – she likes to spend her free time staring at dogs at the park or drawing shapes on her computer. She also enjoys competitive board game sessions as well as comically overpriced gin-drinks. For self-control, Julia ends every workday with yoga whilst listening to Dolly Parton. She might also have seen every Sharknado movie.
Senior Art Director - Web and Mobile Development + Film
CMS, SEO, SEM – what might sound like rap song gibberish to some, is Kris daily dose of fun. Always ready for a new challenge, he is our go-to-guy for conceptualizing websites and bringing them to life. An all-round tech enthusiast, he helps our clients build their online presence: want a banging responsive website? An awesome app? Or an animated ad banner? Kris is your man! Besides dropping code, Kris is also a pro at video editing, motion design and filigree illustration.
Away from the screens, Kris’ likes to spend his time with his children and wife – from camping adventures to hunting for mushrooms in the woods. Also: his blood probably tastes like Red Bull.
Art Director - Concept + Design + Content
Eva – our idea of the perfect woman. Why, you ask? Well, the saying goes that thee who is little also is fierce. And yes, this human firecracker might be small in size but mighty in creative outbursts!
Before she brought her sparks into our agency and our clients lives, Eva studied all things communication. She got her master’s degree in media culture and science. Now at alphabetique, she is putting her expertise to the test: Eva sets her focus on diving deep into a brand’s core and its vision as well as its customers. From there, she conceptualizes, develops and implements the best solution – knowledgeable, enthusiastic, experienced and keen on trying out new things. Always ready to eat some snacks, she never lets anyone tell her that something isn’t possible.
Incredible locks on her head and killer smile, Eva is also an avid sports enthusiast: be is running around in circles, walking up mountains, skiing down others and trying to grow fins in her local swimming pool. Her life motto? Always prioritize your wine spillage over your own safety! Hot tip: you want to bribe Eva? Use French fries!

What do you do, when you’re in need of a focused and creative all-round talent? You find yourself a Vanessa! With over twenty years of life experience she is the most understanding Junior Art Director you are going to meet. Ever.
With effortless ease she helps translate our brand strategies into visual ideas and finalize our projects – be it print or digital: from concept, graphic design, photo retouching, illustrations or hand lettering. She truly is a pixel-pushing-whiz! She is constantly exploring new ideas and solutions for our clients – and always brings the good vibes to the table.
When she is not here, she is probably running around somewhere in the mountains with her boyfriend and dog. Or hunting down sugared pretzels (preferably in November). Or tending to her four adopted chickens. Also: her dog’s name is Tristan and the hens are called Kunni, Heidi, Berta and Hilde.
Art Director - Concept + Design + Photography
At alphabetique, Sandra lends her lifelong passion for design and illustration to bring our concepts to life. From look books, packagings, adverts or retouching photos – Sandra makes sure our work is perfect, no matter the client. As one of our Junior Art Directors for print and digital, she reaches new levels of design excellence every day. An idea-generating superstar, Sandra also shines behind the camera as our inhouse photographer.
Here are some things you probably don’t know: Sandra’s ideal day consists of 93 % sleeping. She is a big fan of refined carbs and can smash three kilograms of pasta in 10 minutes (has to be seen to be believed…). On the weekends she plays dress up as an innocent LARP guardswoman working at a taverna… occasionally defending said taverna – but only in case of emergency. Honestly, we don’t have any idea what we’re talking about…
Junior Art Director
A gifted design student with a focus on typography, illustration and verbal communication, Hannah impressed us the moment she walked through the door. With an unquestionable enthusiasm for concept art and graphic novels, she startet with us as an intern. But, her style and imaginative perspective bewitched us so much, we didn’t want to leave her go. That’s why we made it official: anything but vanilla, Hannah is now a trainee for art direction while finishing off her university degree. With a passion for learning, she is a hands-on player in our team and helps create valuable content that wows clients and customers alike.
Offscreen, you will most likely find her hanging out with her many friends – her 87 houseplants, that is. If you’re lucky you might also catch her belting out Elvis or the Beach Boys whilst cruising around Nuremberg on her bike. Safe to say we’re stoked Hannah is #teamalpha!
Media Designer - Print Collateral
We’re thrilled to have Marina add a fresh viewpoint and her creative muscle to our team. Curious, passionate about learning and determined to solve every challenge that comes her way – she started her foray into professional life with an apprenticeship as a media designer. Nowadays, you’ll find her front and center creating all things print. Her favorite thing to do? Showing photoshop who’s boss!
When Marina’s not with us, she is likely trying out another sport: from hockey, cheerleading or hanging upside down on a pole. She’s done it all. As appropriate relaxation therapy she likes to delight her tastebuds. Peanut butter coconut curry? Yep! Ricenoodle salad with crusted tofu? Why not? Fancy vegan burger with sweet potato fires? Most definitely!
Media Designer - Concept + Design
Say hello to one of our newer members! Chrissy found her love for colors, art and architecture at an early age. Now, she keeps that love going as a media designer at alphabetique. Here, she dabbles in everything print and digital – from pens, toys, electrical equipment and windows. With a keen eye for detail, she sorts through the madness to craft engaging transmedia content for our clients.
Warning: don’t play drinking games with Chrissy – her surname says it all: Biere – German for beers. But, she’s also a sandwich child. So, after she gets you drunk she’ll pick you up and take care of you. She also enjoys hopping from festival to festival all over Europe, frothing over bacon or sipping on gin. When she slows down she usually talks about napping or is in the middle of napping. We’re glad to have her on board!
Personal assistant to executive management
Hailing from Fortaleza, Brazil – with a background in teaching and translating – Marcia set out to see more of the world. This lead her to Germany to study foreign language communications. Now at alphabetique, she is our very own editor for Spanish, Portuguese and English projects. When she’s not polygloting away, she also keeps our office in line: queen of our calendar, she helps organize, manage and coordinate our team and projects. Also: she presides over the office candy and snacks, strategically hiding them in different cupboards.
Marcia loves reading, she’s obsessed with the SCREAM franchise and she adores mashed potatoes. Cooking for herself on the other hand is her own private horror story. Things she wants to achieve? Convincing the rest of the team that chips are a great crunchy garnish on 98 % of foods. Buen provecho & saúde!
Art Director - Web and Mobile Development
The Latin American force is strong with us! Hailing from Brazil’s biggest city (testing that common knowledge, are ya?), Natalie has been creating "nice and sometimes horrible things" (her words) on her computer since childhood. While finishing her bachelor’s degree in communications with a focus on journalism, she dipped her tows into the professional world: as an art director she worked for Metro International newspaper in São Paulo. But, while creating page layouts, retouching photos and finalizing the printed newspaper, Natalie realized that something was missing! Was it the "arroz, feijão, couve e farofa" she had forgotten at home? Nah – all fingers pointed to one thing. Her first love: coding! So, she switched it up to focus on the digital world. And boy, did she find her calling.
Jump to early 2020: Natalie now works as a hands-on web developer for our creative playhouse. Always eager to learn and try out fresh things, she is a problem-solving virtuoso. Diving straight into code every morning, she creates concepts for websites with an eye on SEO and helps implement HTML and CSS.
When she's not with us, she likes to hang out with her hubby. While traveling the globe or chilling at home they like to talk about the crazy data world, Big Brother and the future of face recognition. Fun fact: Natalie also likes to draw pig portraits in all their glory. See some George Orwell similarities? We’re excited to be part of her story.
Art Director - Print Collateral + Illustration
Serious designer. Serious illustrator. Serious woman. Ok, just kidding!
Conny fit right in from day one: starting out as an intern, she blew us away with her uniqueness, kindness and her passion for everything she gets her hands on. Before coming to us, she flexed her creative chops while studying design at TH Nuremberg and creating illustrations for local festivals and restaurants. Now at alphabetique, Conny lends her expertise to create all things print. From flyers, catalogues, postcards or posters – be it minimalistic, illustrative or a color fest: this whiz-bang talent creates whatever marketing collateral your products need.
But, creativity doesn’t shop when she leaves work for the day: Conny is also an accomplished, self-taught tattoo artist. Starting out with poking color into her thighs, she now has a long waiting list of people voluntarily wanting to get poked. Get in line! Living in Gostenhof – a part of Nuremberg the Bild-Newspaper once called "one of the most dangerous parts of Germany" – she likes to escape by wandering up mountains. Or drinking some local beer. Or you’ve guessed it, wandering up mountains while drinking local beer.
Apprentice Media Designer
Creative woman, music woman, dance woman and more: after graduating in 2019 with a certificate in Design and Art, Leonie joined our team. Now, as a Media Designer apprentice, she helps turn concepts into finished content. Always eager to learn, try out new things and apply her unique perspective, she brings heart and soul into every project she works on. A true designer pro in the making! Fun fact: she has the nicest handwriting. Ever. And yes, we might be slightly jealous.
As a kid, Leonie spent her time drawing everything she saw – later focussing on Manga and fantastical anatomy illustrations. When not with us, Leonie can be found grooving out to her favs: from rock to techno, from hip hop to neurofunk and vaporwave – German country music being her only pet peeve. She might well be the most graceful in our midst, having mastered every dance style from standard and latin ballroom, Zumba and competitive hip hop.
